By accessing and using the Gateway you agree that DED may update or modify these terms and conditions and other terms, policies or information of or on the Gateway at any time without advance notice.  Modified terms and conditions and other terms, policies or information will take effect once posted on the Gateway, unless otherwise stated.  You should re-read these terms and conditions every time you visit the Gateway to ensure that you are aware of all current terms and conditions.  Accordingly, your continued access and use of the Gateway after any modification is deemed to be acceptance of the modified terms and conditions.

Acceptable Use
By accessing the Gateway you agree that you will not:

  •  deface, alter or interfere with the front end “look and feel” or content of the Gateway or any linked sites or the underlying software code; 
  •  take any action which imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Gateway or related infrastructure; 
  • do anything which will or might damage, interfere with, disrupt access to, interrupt or impair the functionality of the material available on or through the Gateway, nor to upload any material that contains any computer viruses or other codes, files or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any software or equipment; 
  • post, distribute or otherwise upload any defamatory, libellous, offensive, infringing, obscene, indecent, harmful, threatening, abusive, tortuous, racially or ethnically objectionable or otherwise unlawful material or information or send any chain letters, junk mail, 'spamming' material or any other form of bulk communication, advertising or solicitation;
  • upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any materials that you do not have a right to transmit under any law or under a contractual relationship; 
  • use the Gateway to commit a criminal offence or to encourage others to engage in any conduct which would constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability;
  • obtain or attempt to obtain unauthorized access to Gateway or any private or member account areas on the Gateway, nor to impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with another person;
  • post any material that infringes upon or violates the intellectual property rights of another, do, cause or permit anything to be done that may infringe, damage or interfere with any intellectual property rights of DED, Abu Dhabi Government or third parties.  Also, not to do anything that is otherwise unlawful or which may create any liability on the part of DED or Abu Dhabi Government; or
  • collect or store personal information about others.
    If DED considers that you have breached any of these terms and conditions or have otherwise demonstrated inappropriate conduct when using the Gateway, DED reserves the right to:
  • warn you that you have breached these terms and conditions, and ask you to stop such conduct; 
  • delete any material or content which you may have posted without notice to you; 
  • take measures (including terminating, suspending or restricting your access) to, and preventing you from using the Gateway;  
  • report your activities to an internet service provider or relevant authorities;  

       and/or      

  • take legal action against you.

Intellectual Property

The information on this Gateway is copyright, except where otherwise indicated.  You may only download, store in cache, display, print and reproduce the material in unaltered form only (retaining this notice, or links to it where they appear) for your personal, non-commercial use or use within your organization.
The copyright in the material appearing at sites accessed through or linked to the Gateway vests in the author of those materials, or the author’s licensee of those materials. DED cannot and does not grant any permission or authority in respect of copyright in materials that appear on sites that are accessed through or linked to the Gateway. Furthermore, the DED advises you refer to the individual copyright notices or statements that appear on those Sites before making use of any of the material located on them.
The names, images and logos identifying DED, Abu Dhabi Government, third parties and their information, products and services are proprietary marks of either DED, Abu Dhabi Government and/or third parties. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold DED indemnified from and against any claims, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, costs (including legal fees on a full indemnity basis), expenses or payments whatsoever which DED suffers, incurs, or is liable for, whether or not contemplated by the parties, arising out of claims resulting from your use of the Gateway, including without limitation any claims alleging facts that, if true, would constitute a breach by you of these terms and conditions.  You agree to cooperate fully in the defense of any such claim.  DED reserves the right to assume, at its own expense, the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you.  You must not to settle any matter without the prior written consent of DED.

Limitation of Liability

Neither DED nor Abu Dhabi Government will be liable for any damages or injury caused by, including but not limited to, any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation of transmission, computer virus or line failure.  Neither DED nor Abu Dhabi Government will be liable for any damages or injury, including but not limited to, incidental, indirect, special, punitive, exemplary or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, the materials on or through this Gateway, even if there is negligence or DED or an authorized DED representative has been advised, knew or should have know of the possibility of such damages.  The above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you to the extent that applicable law may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages.  In such cases the total liability DED and Abu Dhabi Government to you for all losses, damages and causes of action (in contract, tort [including without limitation, negligence], or otherwise) will not be greater than the amount you paid to access this Gateway.

Choice of Law and Jurisdiction

Your use of the Gateway is and these terms and conditions are subject to the laws of the United Arab Emirates and you agree to submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Information Collected and Stored Automatically


DED shall automatically collect and store information during the user browse of the website, reading pages, or downloading information without identifying the user personally. DED shall automatically collect and store only the name of the Domain from which you entered the Internet (for example, "XYZcompany.com" if you use a private Internet access account); IP address of user; the date and time you access DED site; and the pages you visit, etc.)

This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of DED site, and to help us make DED site more useful to our visitors. DED shall not track or record information about individuals and their visits, as cookies are enabled in order to set language and audience (e.g. researcher, consumer or business owner) preferences.

If You Send Us Personal Information


When registering: In order to use most of the online services of this Web site, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give contact information (such as name and email address). This information presents to the user specific information and services on our site for which he has expressed interest.

When completing an online form: Some of our sites provide forms requesting visitors to enter personally-identifying information (e.g., name, address, e-mail address) for specific purposes, such as when the submitter is requesting a personal response.

Before collecting personally-identifying information, we will prominently disclose:

• why we are requesting the information;
• how it will be used;

Generally, DED will not share any personally-identifying information you give us with any other government agency, private organization, or the public, except with your consent or as required by law.

When placing an order: We request information from the user on our order form. A user must provide contact information (such as name, email) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.

When sending us an E-mail: You may choose to send us personally identifying information such as an electronic mail message containing a request for information. ِAny information you submit may be viewed by various people in a wide variety of government agencies depending on the nature of your request.
At no time will the Department sell, rent, loan, trade or lease any information collected on our site. Moreover, we do not create individual profiles with the information you provide.

Our Website contains links to various other federal agencies and private organizations. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the policies of the new site.

Site Security


This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted to DED offices.
